"Super Mario Land (1989) and Super Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins (1992) were are hughe success for Nintendo. It's no surprise that two years later, the third part of the Super Mario Land series made its way into the stores. While the first two parts follow the adventures of Super Mario, the third part allows the player to slip into the role of Mario's antagonist, the crafty anti-hero "Wario", who is in search of a new home and has to master many tricky and crazy adventures along the way.

For the time, the game was extensive and presented a challenge for some players. In Japan, Nintendo launched this strategy book to guide the player safely through the tricky game sequences.
