Space Invaders, one of the most historically loaded releases in the Game Boy library because it brought one of the most influential arcade games of all time to Nintendo’s handheld in an officially branded 1994 edition. What makes the Game Boy version especially notable for collectors is that it was Super Game Boy enhanced, giving this otherwise minimalist monochrome shooter an added technical layer and making it more than just a straight retro port. As a cartridge, it stands out less through flashy packaging than through pure videogame history: few Game Boy titles represent arcade legacy as directly as this one.
