The Game Boy Classic (jap. ゲームボーイ, Gēmu Bōi) was first introduced to the public in Japan on 21. April 1989 and is the most sold portable console ever. Shortly after the release in Japan the Game Boy entered the US market on 31. July 1989. Gamers in Europe had to wait more than a year until the console was officially available (28. September 1990). This token depicts an example of a rare Game Boy bundle, including Super Mario 1, Super Mario 2 and a carry case.
This token depicts a very rare bundled version of the Game Boy (DMG-01), Super Mario Land 1, Super Mario Land 2 and a Carrying Bag that offers space for the Game Boy and up to 4 games. According to the website www.consolevariations.com only between 500-1000 examples of this bundle were released.
