GAME BOY CLASSIC ITEM
GAME BOY™ SUPER MARIO LAND™ (JPN)
Super Mario Land (DMG-ML) was the first Mario game for the Game Boy Classic and was released alongside the console in 1989. Super Mario Land was expected to showcase the console until Nintendo of America decided to bundle Tetris. Nevertheless the game was sold more than 18 million times and was even more successful than the NES hit Super Mario Bros. 3. The game received two sequels, including Super Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins (1992) and Wario Land: Super Mario Land 3 (1994).
